Crescent History
1933

The name Corinthian Sail Yacht Club was rescinded on January 21st due to the attempted survival of a Club in Marblehead with the same name and the name Crescent Sail Yacht Club was adopted. A General Meeting was held at Coffee Dans on April 24th and a committee was announced to study club site possibilities. Theo. Barbier was appointed chairman of this committee. At a Board Meeting on May 10th, the J.B. Book property at 7700 East Jefferson was accepted as the new Club site. The rental rate was fixed at $25.00 per month. The building, which contained 2 large meeting rooms, a locker room and a loft for storage of sails and rigging, was well suited for Club purposes. There was splendid anchorage for boats and a timber ramp for launching and hauling out boats.

The Charter membership was 27 in at the start of 1933.
The membership fee was increased to $25 and annual dues were increased $15.
Total income for 1933 was $802.33 and expenses were $802.83.

7700 East Jefferson is now River Terrace Apartments which is 3 blocks North of the Belle Isle bridge.
